This is a METSÄÄN build of Parasite Studio’s SUBSPACE TRANSMISSION. It’s a fuzz/distortion pedal with TONE control and a lo-fi RECording and PLAYback feature, based on the ISD1820 voice recording chip. It can record up to 20 seconds and the playback can set to LOOP. PITCH let’s you determine the playback speed. The setting of this dial in REC mode determines how much you can slow down or pitch up the recordings playback. It is possible to record something and then play can play either as ‘one shots’ or as loops that you can BLEND with something else you play over it. All in a very noisy way, of course! [Please note that it can’t be used to do overdubs because of the limitations of the chip and the repeat is not fluid, as there’s always a short delay between the repeats and an audible click.] True bypass with a blue indicator LED and a red LED for record and a green one for play. The leftmost knob controls the output VOLUME Stenciled aluminum enclosure. Power supply input is a standard ‘boss-style’ 2.1mm DC socket (center minus). Handmade by GRM for METSÄÄN.
The controls are:
VOLUME - controls the overall output / boost
TONE - cuts lowend in one direction and highend in the other direction
BLEND - blends between direct fuzz and playback signal
PITCH - controls the playback rate
LOOP - repeats the playback [with the pause and click sound]
RECORD - starts the recording. Press it again to stop the recording
PLAY - starts playback. Press it again to stop playback
BYPASS - true.
